CMS Telehealth Flexibilities Expire October 1st, 2025
As of October 1st, 2025, the flexibilities extended from the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency have expired, leaving most Medicare patients without access to telehealth services. Because our patient population does not fall within the geographic location requirements outlined in CMS’s preexisting telehealth policy (only those who live in Rural Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA), and the originating site requirements (patients must travel to a doctor’s office or other “originating site”, meaning patients may no longer receive telehealth services from their home), we may no longer provide these services to Medicare patients.
While we believe that this limits access and ultimately discourages routine check-ups, we urge patients to maintain proactive health practices and follow through with all necessary appointments, whether they be for medication refills, annual physical exams, or lab work.
The following document, provided by CMS, goes into further detail regarding who may or may not receive telehealth services.
